NEO Rattery Adoption
Regulations

~Neo Rattery does not provide feeders; sell to pet stores or animal wholesalers. Our rats will be sold as pet or show only (not for breeding) unless at least one of the following criteria is met:

1. You are an established breeder of good repute

2. An established breeder recommends you

3. An extensive knowledge as to the responsibilities and expense related to breeding is evident

~ Some contractual excerpts:

When adopting a NEO rat, you will be required to enter into an agreement with us by signing our contract. Some elements of the contract include not only the requirement that you must care for your new rat appropriately as outlined in the agreement, but you will agree to return your pet if you can not or will not provide an adequate environment and veterinary care. If your NEO rat qualifies to be bred, we will ask that you enter our breeding contract including, but not limited to the following:

1. No NEO rat (male or female) will be bred before the age of 6 months.

2. The owner shall not cull or destroy healthy offspring.

3. In the case that an unknown genetic defect is discovered in this animal's direct line, the owner shall notify the breeder or the breeder shall notify the owner.

4. All offspring resulting from your match will be registered with the NARR.

~Price of a NEO Rat:

Single Rat (Pet ONLY): $25

Same Sex Pair (Pet ONLY): $50

Single Rat Breeding/Show: $35 minimum

(Rates may vary depending on the line)

Rats *must* be adopted in pairs unless you already have others (of the same gender) at home.

~The cost of NEO Rats:

You can easily walk into a pet store and purchase a rat for four or five dollars but you could unknowingly be paying for a disaster of a pet. Illness and genetic displays of poor temperament are common within pet store populations. The cute little rat gazing out of the cage at you with pleading eyes could be harboring many temperament issues and medical problems that could lead to heartache for you and your family.

Our rats come from known lines bred for health and superb stability in temperament. We invest in top quality housing and diet as well as institute the care of a multitude of local veterinarians.

While no breeder can guarantee the health or longevity of your pet for their lifetime, we at NEO Rattery can guarantee a working relationship and good rapport with you through open communication and the advice we are qualified to give without being licensed veterinarians. We exist solely to help develop and improve fancy rats, whether they are solely pets or show animals. We can guarantee that we breed for health and temperament first at all times. We would rather be the last to achieve specific markings or colors in our line than be at the forefront with less than superior rats.
